     2009 HEA Contest Finalists

Welcome to the Happily Ever After Contest page!

We've changed our contest timeframe to begin running in the fall with an entry deadline of November 1st, so that we may announce the winners at the MMRWA Retreat From Harsh Reality in April.

If you're ready to enter the Golden Heart with the beginning of your manuscript, why not send the end of your story to us? Our contest encourages constructive criticism and positive comments from all our judges, and let's face it, how many contests are there that look at the end of the story? No matter what the sub-genre is, wrapping up all the plot twists and showing character development over the course of your story is critical to a happy ending. Most of us need more practice making sure the end of our story is just as polished as the beginning!

So, spiff up that synopsis so we know where your story begins, and send us your Happily Ever After! See the details below and good luck with your entry!

MORE GREAT NEWS: Congratulations and best wishes for success to Joanne Tynan, 2007 HEA Contest winner in the Mainstream with Romantic Elements category, who recently sold her winning manuscript! See page 3 of our November - December 2008 Newsletter for details!

What is the "Happily Ever After" Contest?

The "Happily Ever After" Contest is a last chapter contest, the purpose of which is to challenge and inspire authors of romance and to garner feedback on that all-important last chapter and "HEA" before submitting work to an editor or agent.
