Meet Our Authors, page 2:
NANCY GIDEON, a.k.a. DANA RANSOM, ROSALYN WEST, LAUREN GIDDINGS: With 46 sales to her credit since her first publication in 1987, Portage, Michigan author Nancy Gideon's writing career is as versatile as the romance genre, itself (probably because she's a Gemini!) One month, it's researching the gritty existence of 1880's Texas Rangers only to jump to modern themes of intrigue and serial killers. Then it's back to the shadowy netherworlds of vampires and horror movie scripts. She's a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Historical Adventure and HOLT Medallion winner as well as a Waldenbooks, amazon.com and aol.com best seller. In-between, she's the former vice president and award-winning newsletter editor for Mid-Michigan RWA and is widely published in industry trade magazine. A full-time legal assistant and mother of two almost out of the nest boys, she spends her spare time taking care of a menagerie consisting of an ugly dog, a lazy cat, a tankful of pampered fish and three African clawed frogs adopted after a Scouting badge and a yard full of unruly flowers. Nancy begins her writing day at 4:30 a.m. while the family is still sleeping.
Nancy recently sold the first three books in a paranormal shapeshifter series to Pocket Books. They arescheduled for release in June, July and August of 2010!
ALISON HART, a.k.a. JENNIFER GREENE, JEANNE GRANT, aside from being a lady with a lot of names, still has a love affair with category romance even after more than 50 titles. It's no wonder Alison recently won her third RWA® RITA award and was inducted into the RWA®Hall of Fame! She's never afraid to tackle important women's issues such as rape, alcoholism and yeast infections, connecting with readers through her best-selling books and with writers as an avid online networker.
When not writing or traveling, this resident of Benton Harbor, MI, and her husband collect antiques and raise Newfoundlands. Alison was also our speaker at 1999's Retreat From Reality.
Alison Hart (Jennifer Greene) now has over 80 novels and can be contacted via the Jennifer Greene author page on Facebook. You are also invited to visit her website at: http://www.jennifergreene.com/.
MARGO HOORNSTRA had her first story published-in a grade school anthology-before she was ten years old. She currently writes romantic short stories published by The Wild Rose Press. "When the World is Right", her first, came out in January, 2008, to be followed by a new story each month all year, and, hopefully, some novels as well.
A founding member of Mid Michigan RWA, Margo dropped her membership in the eighties to, as she puts it 'go corporate' and take a job in public relations. When she finally came to her senses and returned to writing romance, she was thrilled to find the group still alive and thriving.

MARA JACOBS: After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in advertising, Mara spent several years working at daily newspapers in Advertising sales and production. This certainly prepared her for the world of deadlines!
Most authors say they've been writing forever. Not so with Mara. She always had the stories, but they played like movies in her head. A few years ago she began transferring the movies to pages. She writes mysteries with romance, thrillers with romance, and romances with well, you get it.
Forever a Yooper (someone who hails from Michigan's glorious Upper Peninsula), Mara now resides in the East Lansing, Michigan, area where she is better able to root on her beloved Spartans.
Mara published in October of 2012 with 2 romantic mystery series and a contemporary romance series. You can find out more about her books at www.MaraJacobs.com.
MELISSA KEIR has always wanted to be an author when she wasn't hoping for a career as a race car driver. Her love of books was instilled by her mother and grandparents who were avid readers. She'd often sneak books away from them so that she could fantasize about those strong alpha males and plucky heroines. In middle school and high school, Melissa wrote sappy love poems and shared them with her friends. She still has those poems today! In college, her writing changed to sarcastic musings on life as well as poems with a modern twist on fairy tales and won awards for her writing. You can find many of these musings along with her latest releases on her website and blog.
As a writer, Melissa likes to keep current on topics of interest in the world of writing. She's a member of the Romance Writers of America® and EPIC. Melissa is always interested in improving her writing through classes and seminars. She also believes in helping other authors and features authors and their books on her blog.
Melissa doesn't believe in down time. She's always keeping busy. Melissa is a wife and mother, an elementary school teacher, a book reviewer, an editor for a publishing company as well as an author. Her home blends two families and is a lot like the Brady Bunch, without Alice- a large grocery bill, tons of dirty dishes and a mound of laundry. She loves to write stories that feature "happy endings" and is often found plotting her next story.
Her releases include FOREVER LOVE -- THE WILDER SISTERS, coming in January from Secret Cravings Publishing. And two more Wilder Sisters stories- Beach Desires and A Christmas Accident. These stories tell the tale of five daughters who moved away from their small town but now facing a father with Alzheimer's. Melissa also has a story about finding love after divorce titled "Second Time's the Charm" and a twisted tale of the Three Little Pigs titled "Protecting His Wolfe." In this story, the Wolfe needs protecting by the pig.
